Vienna is a romantic and historical place that is well known for its classical music and as well as for its elegant restaurants and cafeterias. Unfortunately, most of these, are serving average coffee. The “melange” is a traditional Viennese coffee with a lot of milk, that could be found almost everywhere. We are not looking for average and bland; we are here for delicious cups with fresh and flavourful beans!
After long research and lots of coffee consumed (quite hyper after that- hehe), I narrowed the top 3 places in Vienna that offer the tastiest coffee cup.
Balthasar Kaffee Bar
Contemporary design, friendly staff, good coffee… everything you need to feel welcomed.
These guys are PASSIONATE about their coffee. They offer a variety of flavours: chocolate, hazelnut, berries, fruity, you name it! You can opt for milk, no milk, oat milk, what milk?! They also have delicious pastries! Win-Win. (pleaseee try their carrot cake, it is divine).
Since it’s a popular place among Viennese, the place could be sometimes quite crowded (not complaining,… ok, ok, maybe a bit … ). Don’t get discouraged by this though- you are not going to regret it! (pinky promise)!
My TIP: Have some cash with you since they don’t accept any cards!

Fenster Café
A chic and simple window offers one of the best coffees in Vienna. Is even rewarded as one of the best 50 coffee shops in the world- yep, yep- it is true!
Their creative, mouth-watering coffee stands out from the rest: ‘Chilli Espresso’, ‘Cornettocino’, or ‘Cold Drip Orange’ MUST be enjoyed while exploring the nearby historical Viennese streets.
My TIP: If you are already there, go across the street to Cafe Diglas- they have amazingly delicious cakes.

J. Hornig Kaffeebar
Located in one of the most vibrant districts in Vienna, crowded with small boutiques, restaurants, and bistros inspires a relaxed and joyful feeling.
Inside the Café you’ll always find friendly faces, open-minded people and good vibes – everybody needs that, no?!
Smooth and silky coffee is available every day of the week- yuhuu!!
My TIP: have their loyalty card, after 10 coffees, you get one for free- who doesn’t love freebies?!

All these coffee places have exceptional coffee cups with unique tastes that are competing on the third wave coffee market of Vienna.
