Barcelona is great for outdoor activities, the weather is perfect and its location is great for a diversity of hobbies. Making the most of Barcelona means spending more time outside and there are a lot of things to explore. Here are 7 activities that you have to try if you want an unforgettable summer holiday.

Hiking

Hiking is one of the top activities in Barcelona. There are even meetups and Facebook groups dedicated to discovering Barcelona’s surroundings and its landscapes. The most epic hiking trails are Montserrat, Montseny, Vall de Nuria and many others. You can read more about the best hiking tours near Barcelona here, or you can do your own research.

Stand Up Paddling (SUP)

No need for any experience, anybody can do it! You can just chill on the paddle and enjoy the sun or you can train your muscles by standing and paddling away. It’s a great activity for all levels.

Renting the SUP boards is quite convenient, there are lots of places where you can rent the boards along the coast.

Molekai, Sea You, are in the heart of Barceloneta and near the beach, it costs 15€/hour or 20€/1,5hours. There are other options for renting as well like  Base Náutica Municipal de Barcelona, Centre Municipal de Vela or Ungravity Sup.

Beach Volleyball

For the ones that feel extra energetic and you are in the mood for something more intense, this one is perfect for you. Of course, there is a meetup group for this too. You get to not only burn some calories but make some new friends and have fun. Hopefully.

Sailing

Everybody should try to go out on the sea at least once. After all, life is all about experiences and making memories. The best way you can achieve great memories is not from things, is through new experiences and new activities.

You can find cheap tickets for around 70€/person for a 3-hour boat ride. If you’re in the mood for a more private adventure, there are renting options starting from 600€. You can find different Sailing options here.

Watching an open-air film

Summer evenings don’t last long, thus an open-air film is a must in Barcelona. What could be more relaxing than sipping a glass of wine under the stars with a good film on and feeling the gentle summer breeze?! It’s a good option for trying it out with friends or if you feel more romantic, with your partner. Here are all the open-air cinemas available in Barcelona.

Enjoy the music from Batlló’s rooftop

Casa Batlló Jazz Concert Rooftop

For the laid back ones, I handpicked a chill option where you can just enjoy the company of friends with some good music.

At Casa Batllo, during the summer, they are hosting live music concerts with different music styles. You can book music concerts from Rumba, Flamenco to Jazz and Soul, the concert night will be memorable.

We went for a Jazz Night and it was perfect. Having a drink with good music, on a rooftop and enjoying Batllo’s art is epic.

You can find more about them here.
